Prohibited and Restricted Goods
The Importation of certain goods into Papua New Guinea (PNG) is either prohibited or restricted. The Customs Prohibited and Restricted Imports Regulations control the importation of goods and apart from those goods which are prohibited absolutely such as narcotic drugs and pornography, other restricted goods may be imported if certain condition are met. For example a permit to import is required when importing firearms, ammunition and other similar goods.

For further enquiries or information please contact the Customs Enforcement Division or nearest Customs Office.

A single declaration may be sufficient for a family comprising the parents and any children under the age of eighteen. All questions on the declaration must be answered. If you are unsure about any of the questions on the declaration it is recommended that you declare YES and see a Customs Officer on arrival for clarification.
